Navajo State Park Opens Marina and Inspects for Aquatic Nuisance Species
#1
ARBOLES, CO. - The boat ramp at Navajo State Park and the Two Rivers Marina have both opened and are gearing up for another great year. All the rental boats are tuned up and ready to go. There are fishing, pontoon, and ski boats available for half day or full day rentals. The Two Rivers Marina is a full service marina including fuel, snacks, ice, tackle, live bait, slips and pump out station.

The marina is known for excellent and elegant customer service, including very clean restrooms, because we realize how important it is to our park visitors. For more information, please call (970) 883-BOAT.
Please help keep your public reservoirs and waterways free of ANS, including zebra and quagga mussels. All vessels entering Navajo must be inspected for ANS prior to launching. If ANS are detected, your boat will not be allowed to launch, and park rangers may conduct a decontamination of the boat. To speed up the boat inspection process, all boaters are encouraged to arrive at the park with a boat that is clean, drained, and dry. By removing the plug to drain any standing water from inside the boat, and by taking boat covers off prior to entering the inspection area, the ANS boat inspection will go more quickly.
Also to save time on your next boat launching, boaters can ask for a pre-inspection when leaving the lake. A pre-inspection will result in the boater receiving an ANS inspection seal, which will allow the boat to be launched upon arrival at any hour of the day or night, including when the ANS inspection station is not open.
In April, the ANS inspection station will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., every day of the week. The inspection station hours will increase in May through September. On Monday through Thursday, inspection hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, they are 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. And, in October and November, the inspection hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The prevention of ANS is a high priority for Colorado State Parks and stiff fines will be issued to boaters who choose to launch their boat without the required ANS boat inspection.
With the discovery of zebra and quagga mussels and larvae in several western states, including some reservoirs in Colorado, Colorado State Parks is asking boaters and anglers help to protect Colorado waters from all aquatic nuisance species (ANS). Zebra and quagga mussels are non-native, invasive species that spread very quickly, causing harmful effects to the environment. All boaters, belly boaters and people wading into water are advised to take a few simple, precautionary steps - every time they go to a lake, river or stream.
