Barr Lake State Park Hosts First Annual Spring Fishing Clinic

BRIGHTON, Colo. - Outdoor enthusiasts who would like to learn about fishing opportunities at Barr Lake State Park are invited to the park's First Annual Spring Fishing Clinic on Saturday, April 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This is an opportunity to discover the joys of fishing in Colorado, and more specifically, fishing at Barr Lake State Park. Bring the kids for face painting, crafts and a free boat safety t-shirt. The state park's mascot, Talon, a red-tail hawk, will be on hand for pictures and fun!

There will be clinics on fishing as well as opportunities to fish with assistance from park staff and volunteers. In addition, there will be special presentations on fish and wildlife subjects during the day:<br />
"¢ 10:00 a.m. - Raptor Education Foundation will bring a live great horned owl and explain this magnificent bird's life, food and habitat.<br />
"¢ 11:00 a.m. - Nathan Zelinsky, a professional guide and walleye angler and owner/operator of Tightline Outdoors, will speak about shore fishing techniques. Zelinsky is a fishing tournament pro as well as an avid hunter. Currently, he is a host on the World Fishing Network's Rocky Mountain content and hosts fishing clinics, schools and seminars.<br />
"¢ 12:00 p.m. - Fly Fishing Colorado lakes by Jesse Morvay.<br />
"¢ 1:00 p.m. - Nathan Zelinsky, a professional guide and walleye angler and owner/operator of Tightline Outdoors will be speaking on carp fishing.<br />
"¢ 2:00 p.m. - A representative from Eagle Claw will speak on a subject to be announced later.<br />
