Dropshot, Riverpark (Nickajack), Spotted Bass, 5/4/2011
#1
Against my better judgement I decided to tackle the riverpark early evening. It was cold, windy, and the water was well down from where it was on Sunday. Not much current but a nasty crosswind made fishing nasty. Put in at around 5:45 and stayed on the water until 7:15. During that time I managed to catch 14 spotted bass. Of the 14, only one measured less than 12 inches, and four exceeded fifteen inches. Water temp was around 66 degrees where I was fishing.
Had to move out to ledge to find bigger fish, which was difficult with wind. Called it a day after losing several tungsten weights/ premium hooks battling the breeze. Also decorated a tree down on the river with a nice swimbait.
All fish caught on swimbait and LFT Craw.
