Stewarts Point 5/5
#1
Launched out of Echo Bay on Thursday at 6:30 am and headed north to Stewarts Point. Found the muddy water in the back of two coves just north of the point. Started throwing crankbaits into the mud line and it was on. The fishing was insane!!! Caught 26 striper between two of us in the first forty minutes! Total for the day was 46 striper and off the water by noon. All fish were caught on 3' - 5' diving crankbaits in the muddy water. Largest topped the scale at an even 5 lbs and 22". Best day I have had on the Mead in several years. Thanks for all of the tips in recent posts, I would have never fished the muddy water without them. After two hours at the fish cleaner we weighed the fillets in at 15 lbs. Guys at the fire station are going to be eating good! Nellis AFB Fire Dept, just thought I would throw that out their before I get alot of hate responses about abusing your tax dollars!! LOL!!! Pictures will be uploded once I get them from my fishing buddy.

Hello folks,

It amazes me how it only takes one negative minded person to mess just about anything up. I was not going to post on this thread as everything that needs to be said has been, but I did notice one thing.

I like the responses from the members to this individual's harassment. Makes me glad I'm a member of this forum. Just had to say that.

BTW, to FireFish74... thanks for the report. I am gonna try to emulate your success with my fly rod and two other BFT fisherpersons next Friday. Just hope we are not too late...

You can think it has to do with my personal opinion all you want, but the truth of the matter is that this is a family-friendly forum, and I have agreed to keep it that way. Sorry man, you're just barkin' up the wrong tree.

First off let me thank everyone who took their time to defend my post. I didnt get to see the posts that got this all started but I did see his post the other day about not having pictures to prove your post. Unfortunately my buddy's fiancee was hospitalized the day after we fished and it took me a while to get the pics from him. Whizzle...thank you for handling this problem so quickly, this forum doesn't need the negativity this person seems to bring. Enough about all of that, here are the pics I promised. The cooler is one of the large 100 quart coolers and no I don't have the reciept to prove it's size.

Whizzle deep down I know you got a laugh out of it [cool] but your right its house rules. I'll make your job easier and just stop posting. I actually have been working on my own fishing forum/webstore for some time. I'll be sure to spam the hell out of bft when its up. Cheers! [Wink]

I fished Stewarts Points Sunday 5/8 from shore, with no luck at all. It was very windy on sunday, but I try not to let the wind affect my fishing. High winds doesn't mean no fish [Wink], but this wind for sure affected the bite. I fished every lure I had sunday at Stewarts Point from shore with no bites. Cranks of every depth, all types of topwaters, a few different worms rigged in a few different ways, swimbaits, spinners, and a bunch of xrap and shadrap stuff with no luck.

I covered allot of shoreline with good baits and great technique lol. It may have been the wind or the fish just where not there atm.

I wasn't sure if I should tag onto one of the Stewarts Point threads or start a new one. I might just make a new one [Smile]. It was a fun long day even though I had no bites.

P.S. I'm up for a friendly discrepancy once in a while, especially when it comes to fishing. Everyone knows a fishing story can get bloated or exaggerated at times. I just think you should have been slightly nicer and used your real forum name. I'm and avid believer in no pictures it didn't happen, but just as a joking like manner.

I whent out on 5-07/11 Saturday.

The weather report for Saturday was breazy and Sunday to be windy. Ha! Breazy turned in to the perfect storm just before noon.

Got a late start, we trolled about two miles north of Echo Bay around 10am. Got the first fish in the boat around 10:30.
3/4oz blue and chrome Rattle Traps we the ticket.

This was just a pre-fish trip for the next tournament, so we were exploring new areas. Stoped by the Meat Hole for a day bite and found it to full of weeds that were floating around.

After an hour of getting the anchor set we chumed and soon had them biting. But with the 3 to 4 foot swells rolling on us hooking the fish was a miss.

Then a 6 foot rouge wave dumped a few gallons of water in the boat. The winds were from the south and it was starting to blow and the waves turned to white caps.......time to go home.

The ride home back to Callvile was slow and wet from the swells and spray. Took us almost two hours to get across the basin and thru the narrows.

Then we had to get pass the crazy boaters and two near misses from dumb people.

Off the water by 4pm.

Consider for a second that one sit's down at their computer as usual. Without hesitating they go to one of their favorite sites which happens to be BFT forums... nevada style. They open up a nice post about nice fishing trip and what do they get treated to? The chipendales... with a pink, badly drawn T-back....

Man O' Man I wish I coulda laughed, but I had to turn and explain to my 8 yr old boy what all that was about. One could argue that as a dad, I am going to be confronted with that situation often, but I didn't expect to have to deal with it like that.

I'm not mad at you Ben, I'm just asking you to give consideration to where you are posting things.

Maybe you can pm your funny stuff and keep it a bit cleaner in the general forum.

Hope we have a good trip on Friday [fishon].

Yes I to agree with the BS being thrown around BFT by boys who think they are men. Firefish, I'm glad to see that the fish took your lunch buffet. It's good to see that people can still produce quality reports. Thanks for all you do as your job is tough " I know as I was a firefighter in mohave valley az." just keep the good posts flowing all they want is to stir the sh#t and excite everyone. We all have the option of being an a$$ but we don't. People grow up and that's why others try to F with us. Such is life. Great catch and great pics.

I'm more then willing to let it go. 4pound has been a member for a long time and posted allot of good stuff. He could be the coolest guy on here for all I know. I just think he made a bonehead decision. Banning him just seems a bit much. I dont even know him and think he should at least be given another chance. If he does something strange again then boot him lol.

i agree with telbone and jimboslice, 4pound is a cool cat from what i can see, and who knows why he did what he did maybe he had a couple too many, i've been known to do off the wall things under the right "influence" i actually feel better knowing it was a longtime member rather than some newbooty tryin to ruin things for everyone. i had a feeling it was 4pound when i read his first reply, which is why i didn't go off on him like i would normally do to people that act out online. but whats done is done, i'm over it, and we should all still be adults in the end.

side note: i'm headin to government wash this saturday with the family for lip rippin good time round 2. if anyones out there this sat look for the lifted brown bronco and the family feel free to stop by and say hi maybe have a beer!! tight lines[fishin]
