Welcome to the site luvtofish. I have not been up that way since the first of winter but I'd imagine BC is fuller than I have ever saw it. I'm curious when they usually open Monte highway. Hope someone can chime in

I was there a week ago, and the road was fine, but that was before all of the rain and snow that we have gotten up here. I don't think that there is a dirt road in all of Rich county that is passable right now,(in a pickup anyway) The res was down a bit then, but it may be full and spilling now. There is a whole lot of water coming down the canyon right now and the whole town of Woodruff is about to float away. They normally have Monte open by Memorial Day weekend but would be surprised if it happens this year.

They're just making room for all that water that's on its way. 2 weeks ago, the water level was way up into the bushes, higher than I've ever seen it.

No spillway though. We should all hope that the water doesn't fill it faster than it can be released. That would really ruin the dam if it flowed over the top.

(The fish were close to shore at the dam. Maybe 10 feet out. Good luck.)

I really appreciate the help. I have never actually been there, just been told about it would like to try to catch some of those tiger trout. I am originally from Idaho been here a few years and decided I want to give it a try, but if the road is not even fit for a four wheel drive I think I might wait till it dries out a bit. Any thoughts on the road to the damn?
