Anyone have experience buying waders, in particular, simms goretex on ebay? I figure that will be the only chance I have of buying em since they are so pricey otherwise. I sure would like to have a pair!!!!!! They seem to be the only thing that are durable. Is there anything other than the obvious I should look out for? Even on ebay they cost aq lot of $.
Had another fun day at Mantua!!!! Caught a 10 1/2 in gill! Couldn't get my hand around her. Didn't keep anything, all catch and release. Caught two nice trout while bass fishing too. Tha largest (16 in) had sores on her side. Warm water related?

[cool]Probably "anchor worms" Rainbows get it in most of the lakes where the water gets warm. Used to call them "pizza-side" trout.
That must have been a porky bluegill. I'll bet it pulled good.
On the waders, it is pretty hard to find a dealer discounting the Simms. They risk losing their ability to sell them. But that doesn't mean you can't find a good deal from someone "bailing out"...or selling off the stuff from grandpa's estate. Look carefully and jump in if you find a good deal, before someone else beats you to it.

Hi Leaky,
I just bought my second pair of Simm's Guideweights and they are VERY pricey, but well worth it. I abused the first pair for years on brushy little Basin creeks and they never leaked so much as a drop. I only bought new ones because I gave the old ones to my son, K2. I would get them if I were you, even if you pay top dollar. They are one of the best angling investments you can make. Just my $.02.

Still wondering if it's wise to buy them on ebay if they are available for a much better price and count on the sellers rating/history? Have been watching ebay and on occassion they are available but just couldn't get myself to take the risk.

Leaky, I have purchased lots of things on ebay and have never had a problem. Just make sure the seller has a high rating and you should be ok. Also check their feedback messages from other customers. If you stay with the larger powere sellers you should be pretty safe.

They had slightly used Guide weight Simms at Flaming Gorge lodge 2 weeks ago. $60.00. They looked new.

Leaky,
I was in the same situation; looking for waders and wondering if Simms were really worth it. I found a pair of Simms G3's for $325 (reg. $450) on ebay..kinda pricey, but after trying them on in a local store and finding my correct size, and realizing this was actually a great investment. I've only had them about 1 month now but I wouldn't trade them for anything, they are very comfortable and they have a great warranty.
If I were you I would try and find the right pair for you on ebay. Just know what size you need. Another great thing about ebay is I didn't have to pay any taxes and the guy I bought them from shipped them to me for free!
