Outside of shrimp and carp I have had some good luck on the prepared catfish bait that you can buy from walmart in the ziplock bags too. It stays on the hook pretty well, and it is super convenient. Biggest cat I ever caught out of UL was on a 12" white bass that I had cut in half and put on a halibut hook.

[font "Comic Sans MS"][#800000][size 3]I only fish Willard for catfish as it’s very close to home. I’ve caught them by trolling Rapalas along the dike during the catfish spawn. The trick is to JUST bounce the Rapala off the dike rocks without too many snags. I’ve even hooked some carp doing this (yes, in the mouth). But my go to method during the rest of the year is to use the commercial MAGIC BAIT. I honestly can not remember the last time I was skunked on cats using this bait and I’ve used it for over 10 years at Willard.[/size][/#800000][/font]
