Went to Lake Powell for the fourth of July weekend, and the fishing was reasonably slower than memorial but still great . Started out the first day catching a couple stripers and smallies on rattle traps just from shore. We were camped in Stanton so the murky water made the fishing slow. Trolling for stripers was all that would work on the second day, and was slow to produce. On the third day we broke down and headed to our favorite striper spot and boy it was awesome non stop action just like the spring time. After finally being satisfied with my catch of stripers i started targeting bass. I caught my first AND biggest one on a pretty big rattle trap rolled slowly through the brush. With the right presentation i could get the smaller ones to hit on black 3" tubes, but not another biggun. In the end it was another great trip
P.S. any guesses on the size of that largie? i had it out of the water for too long for pictures, and had no time to weigh it
