North Fork 7/6
#1
Well I havent ever fished the north fork, I know its a shame! Live here for over 25 years and never done it but with all my favorite waters blown out I decided to give it a go. Drove up and took a right on the river road at the ashton bridge and went until I found access/good looking water. Was almost to the next bridge. Well there was a couple of different caddis hatches rolling and the grey drakes were thick too. So I saw a few snouts sipping so I eased up behind them and threw an adams at them, 3 rd cast I tied into this little brown.

Not too shabby for my first NF fish.
Caught a few more in that area, then about 45 min after the shade hit the water the fishing turned off. So I hoped in the truck and headed down river till I found more fish rising. Waded out and tied into some more trout and a lone white fish. Same deal there 45 min into the shade it turned off.

So I hoped in the truck and saw fish rising again about a mile above the ashton bridge and hoped out and gave it a go. Looked like from the rises that they were taking emerging caddis so I tied on an emerger pattern with a green dubbed body that has caught a ton of fish for me on the south fork and it didn't let me down. I tied into 5 more nice bows right before dark. 2 of which broke me off. All in all it was great to get off the lakes and back throwing some flies! in 2 1/2 hours I hooked up with 20 fish, landed 12, and got broke off by 3 fish ( Its been awhile since ive tied into big fish on fly gears in a river Wink )
