Uinta Redemption
#1
Saturday was such a bust (see Grandaddy Washout) that I just could not stand the skunky smell of myself, especially since the trip was into the Uinta's. So today after church and home teachers, I took a quick run up the Mirror Lake Highway. Bounced (roughest road ever) my way into a small brookie lake. Fished from 6:00 pm to 7:40 pm before I had to return. Did not count total numbers but caught small brookies - approx 2 for every 3 casts. Worked better than tomato juice for getting rid of skunk.
Brookies - you can always save me.

Is home teachers a type of lure you were using?

Brook trout are soul-savers for sure. Small ones are gems, large ones are truly what makes the Earth spin.

Some of my most memorable fish have been brookies in the high mountains.
