Warm River to Ashton 7/18
#1
Hit the Henry's Fork yesterday with a group of friends. Apparently most of Fremont county did as well. It was a beautiful day. Occasional wind, blue sky, no clouds. Fishing was great, the catching not so much. for 4 of us fishing only 3 were landed. 2 whitefish and a minnow of a rainbow. we had 3 others on briefly but they threw hooks as soon as we were aware of them. All the landed fish were caught on copper johns. It was actually one of the slowest days I've ever had on that stretch. I suspect it may be d/t all the pressure that river is getting this year with the S. Fork being flooded. I included a pic of my whitefish (you can barely tell what it is). I'm still figuring out lighting angles and distances with this camera.

I think that you are right. Everybody is hammering the n. fork because the other rivers are just too high still. My neighbor saw the same thing that you reported. I'm sure it will just get worse before it gets better.

Last Thursday I floated Box Canyon with some family. Same deal: there were "boat loads" of people out fishing which made it difficult to gain access to holes. Due to a combination of lack of knowledge about the holes to hit and lack of knowledge about flies to use, we only managed one fish: an 18 inch rainbow. One guy hauled in a hog that was fun to watch. Almost everyone was nymphing even though bugs were coming off most of the evening.
