Hi All,
Couple of weekends ago I went fly fishing on the Green River with 3 other mates. 1 Brazilian 2 Yanks and me the lone Aussie. I had never fly fished before but was up for a challenge. Now the Green river is reportedly one of the worlds great trout fisheries as many of you would know. Apparently there are somewhere in the vacinity of 20,000 trout per square mile. I don't know if that is true but I saw a sh*t load of em. Absolutely amazing
We set off from the Flaming Gorge dam end of the river at around 8am. There was some low cloud cover and the sun was coming up through the gorge. My mate snapped this amazing photo. Could make it onto any fishing or Nat Geo mag I reckon!!

So we set off drift boating down the Green. It didn't take long for the experienced guys to hook up. I, however was still getting the hang of the whole fly fishing thing. (Hey I am just an Aussie lad used to a 8.6ft rod, 4lb line and an Alvey reel chasing whiting in salt water!!!). Still I ended up getting onto some. I ended up with 8 boated fish (All catch and release) and quite a few lost. My mate landed 18. We scored rainbow and brown. At 1 stage we had the guide busy with a double hookup.

It was truly a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone. (We had a guide called Peter from FG Resort. He was awesome)
BTW, the Aussie ended up with the fish of the day. A 19.5inch Brown at the last eddy!! (And I let em know it hahahahah)
