[cool] Do you use Power Bait? How many colors do you normally cary with you?
Do the fish in your area change thier color preference from time to time?
I use power bait once in awhile. I carry roughly 18 colors in a kit mostly because in some areas, the trout will change color preference about every 20 minutes. What is your experience with Power Bait?

I rarely use powerbait, since I rarely like to keep and eat fish. I would use it more often when trout fishing, but I usually practice catch and release. I use to love fish, but now I only like it occasionally.

I fish mostly artificials myself. When I have used Power Bait (I can't recall the last time), I think I've had the most consistent luck on rainbow glitter. [cool] Amen on those crawlers. I do alot of C&R myself. When I use PB, I will generally use barbless trebles. That has alot less shock for the fish and if I can see the size before I land, I can usually cut them some slack and let them go easily without removal from the water. Thanks for the input.

I use Rainbow sparkle most of the time. But I do carry green sparkle and orange sparkle. I recently used some called lemon twist and it did really well the glitter in it was pretty large and plentiful, it worked really well on the planters.

I personally use it a lot. The absolute best color is rainbow sparkle. I've even caught bass and catfish on it! The way I reduce mortality in fish is to just cut the line. Your going to put them throught about the same stress as if you hook them with a big lure, so I figure use what works fastest.

I have used Rainbow sparkle at Strawberry with excellent results. I carry about 10 other colors but rainbow is the only one I have found to work on a constant basic. I too, prefer the nightcrawlers, though.

My personal favorite is chartruese(light green) sparkle, but have all different colors. I only use it three or four times a year when shore fishing. I have noticed that when left in my tackle box during ice season that it tends to lose some of its floating power, possibly from freezing. When this happens it takes a huge lump to float the smallest hook. The irony in all of this is that after this happens it's only good for ice fishing when floatation doesn't really matter. Anyone else have this happen to them?

[cool] I personally have had some of the floating formulas go bad as a result from heat here in SoCal. That forces me to present it from the top with a bobber and just set the drop distance for thier buffet line. Thanks for the insight. You guys on the Utah board are really informative.

]), and when you catch a fish on powerbait, they are difficult to release. I think Berkley has an excellent product, but there has been times when a crawler, or even salmon eggs, can outfish even the most proficient powerbait fanatic.
