MIll Hollow Resv. ??
#1
Heading up next weekend at least for a day trip maybe a sleep out. anyone have any recent intel about access/road condition, water levels, and or goot tactics for catching a bunch of fish for the kids? I plan on taking my fly rod and a couple spinnig rigs to toss some panthers with. other than that, i dont plan on needing much to fish up there. dont want to gut hook anything this trip so power putty is out.

My jeep is in need of a new rear diff rebuild. so we will be in the wifes sedan this time. should be interesting especially since she does not even like me to go over bumps to fast... dont hurt my car she says... well we are going to rally it up the dirt road to the hollow!!! maybe i should give her a valium before we go or just get her drunk before we leave so she stays "calm" LOL.

anyway, any info is much appreciated as always! i will post up what goes on up there when we get home.

thanks all.

I drove past Mill Hollow today but didn't stop there. The three miles from hwy 35 upto Mill Hollow is in great condition except a little minor washboarding. You'll make it in any vehicle no problem. Can't comment on the fishing but tons of fish were rising along the bank closet to the road a bit away from the dam. Saw this on the way in and many hours later on my way out. At least 15- 20 folks where fishing but none were all the fish where feeding[:|]. That fishing rule 101 for me: fish where there's fish feeding.

One more thing, don't forget the insect repellant! The insect were really bad both below and above Mill Hollow. Can't imagine what evening would be like. On the bright side the wildflowers throughout the area were gorgeous.

Where is Mill Hollow? I remember going there when I was a kid, for school and staying in a cabin/dorm. Long bus ride, dusty road, and really cool views from our hike. That's all I remember, I don't have a clue where it is though, and don't know if Mill Hollow Res, is even the same place?

I was up there a few weeks ago with two of my grandkids and son. We caught lots of smaller rainbows which the grandkids had a blast with. Access is easy.
BADFISH I have a jeep axle set in the garage if you don't want to pay for a re-build .

Head up to Kamas, turn right when you drop into the valley after you go around Jordanelle. IF you go past rockport just keep straight on to Woodland than turn left(east) when you see the sign for Dicks Diner after that just go straight for about 20 miles and you will see a sign on the right for Mill Hollow resv. about what, 5 miles up the dirt road.

we go up there and cut down our christmas trees every year.

A buddy stopped there over the Holiday weekend, he claims he did well with a renegade from shore...nothing too large though.

Good luck!
