South Fork Near Palisades
#1
Hit up a spot I've really come to enjoy over the weekend up near the dam. The bite was down a bit from the last time I hit the spot, but the water was up quite a bit. 23k cfs on Sat. and 20k on Sun. Went with my wife and two friends and everybody had a good time. The friends didn't catch any keepers, but ran into a whitefish or two and a couple chubs. My wife pulled out about an 18" rainbow that hit the dinner table on Saturday and I got a 14" hybrid on Sunday. Got one on a crankbait on Sunday, only fish caught on an artificial (we were using worms on the bottom), and the crank I was using was half as long as the little rainbow was.

I caught hands down the prettiest fish I'd ever caught on Saturday, an approx. 20" cutt. Pics below are of the same fish, different angles. I just can't get over the killer teeth this guy has.

Saw a lot of boat traffic on Sunday, not so much on Saturday. Didn't really hear anything about the fishing from those folks, we were up high enough that they hadn't been on the water long and we were north of most of the little channels people like to drop into and anchor. Overall was a very nice weekend, but I definitely got my fill of sun for a little bit.
