I will be weird again this weekend.........
They are holding an IRON MAN event at the lake.
2.5 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and a marathon too.
Also a NSC Tournament.

I wandered what all those signs were saying special event 9-11 expect delays... The signs start at water street and go to calville bay lol... It's suppose to be real nasty with thunder storms sounds like fishing weather to me...:-) I'll be out there bright and early rain or shine shore fishing haha..

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: IRONMAN TRIATHLON SEPT. 11, EXPECT DELAYS LAKESHORE RD/NORTHSHORE RD
LAS VEGAS - The National Park Service is advising visitors to expect delays and exercise caution on park roads on Sept. 11 due to the Ironman 70.3 triathlon event. Cyclists participating in the event will be on traveling from Lake Las Vegas and entering the park on Lake Mead Pkwy. onto Northshore Rd. to mile 17.5 north of Callville Bay. Lakeshore Rd. between the Lakeshore/Northshore intersection and Boulder Beach entrance will not be affected.Cyclists will be in the park from 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Visitors arereminded to "share the road" and pass only when it is safe. The National Park Service is requiring all cyclists to travel in a single file, except when passing. Parking will not be permitted along the cycling course. The park will remain open to the general public during the event.

[cool]Lake mead is a great place to hold this type of event however I wish that the competitors would heed the rules of the road. Last event the bikers were five wide on the road. I also got yelled at by them and spectators for passing. I ride also but but come on guys, use common sense and safety while riding.
