Fished a good one this weekend, 65 boats, to the north. This was an experience that will stay with me forever. Full moon, high current and no first cold snap to really push the feed bag. The fishing was a little slow to say the least, just the way I like it, takes out a lot of your competition. But the best part was the morning of the blast off, as in many we stood to old glory with are hands on our hearts, and what was different was that the National anthem was done buy the 82nd Airborne. As one of there own who had been shoot by a snipper in the chest and the shock wave had destroyed his spinal cord, sat in a pontoon boat in his wheel chair and waved each one of the 65 boats through the check point. Each and every one of the boats also carried a Flag buy this young Soldier. He also competed in the tourny, outstanding. This has to be the first tournament that I did not care were I placed. But I do know now, that because of all who have served and are serving, We are all in a Better Place.
