My Halloween Plans
#1
So.... It's been a strange summer/fall for me.

A couple doctors visits later, I'm diagnosed with Graves Disease (Graves disease is an [#000000]autoimmune disorder that leads to overactivity of the thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism).

Now I have to take a radioactive iodine pill to kill my thyroid, and consequently, I can't be around anyone for a few days.

What am I to do? Go to the lake for a week.

That's right, you can be jealous now, I am going to camp out at the lake with my boat until that shizzle is out of my system.

And you bet your last dollar that I'm gonna come home with some Fall Fish-Off winners!

Wish me luck guys! This will be my first solo camping trip that is more than one night.

Sand Island has the good striper action right now. Black Island would be good for camping. Hope you get well soon.

Hope everything turns out ok, get better quick!

Radioactive? You won't need a nightlight while fishing for a few days (always look on the bright side of life).

My buddy joked that I am gonna light up like a glow stick every time I crack my knuckles.

So, I did it. I camped out and had a grand 'ol time. Now I'm not so radioactive, and I feel just fine. I never took a pic of a fish with my sign out there, but I had some pretty good carp catches. I'll post up some pics later, but I it was very much a camping trip for me, not so much a fishing trip. I did put on a clinic on some lake mead bass while I was there. They were tucked into the pockets, and ripe for the pickin. I caught bass on jigs, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, poppers, spooks, in-line spinners, ribbontails, etc. One of the days, I landed some 20 bass in about and hour and a half. It was a blast.

The doc said I was clear after 5 days. That was on day 6, and I kept my appropriate distance.
