Headed back to Lake Mohave on Saturday for another day of ten pounders. Launched out of cottonwood cove about 6am, and headed to the same location that a week ago nailed about 30+ of them. The stripers have moved on and saw no boils or shad anywhere. Trolled the area and nailed a 12 lber striper and a 5 lb smallie. The wind picked up about 10am and we headed up river and trolled. We landed another 10 lber and a couple of smaller fish. We kept the two large stripers and let everything else go. Darn stripers always moving [:p]. But did see a coyote walking through the parking lot in the middle of the day.

Nope didn't get a measurement of the smallie, didn't think it would be close to a state record. Just checked out the state record, at 6 lbs 4 oz 20.25 inches. Wow if i knew that, i would of measured him, I don't think he was 20 inches though, pretty darn close probably 18 to 19. I thought smallmouth get as big as largemouth.

not quite newbie... males tend to run smaller than females round 2lbs, females average 3 to 6lbs..
