Causey is slow 12-27-11
#1
Me, the bro and a buddy hit causey hoping to fill the smoker with kokers. yeah right!!! Had the slowest day of fishing I have had in a long time. Iced a few small bow and one decent koke. Only seen a dozen or so fish on the radar all day with a few lite bites and that was it.
I guess i should pay attention to all the fishing reports.

Thanks for the report. Causey has sucked recently for us too. Daughter and I went up there 4 times in the last couple weeks, trying to catch a koke--had a goal to get one by the end of this year. No cigar, so far. Three skunks...one time did get a few small bows and a tiger. Still have never caught a kokanee. [frown]

Can I ask what you were using for the koke? PM is fine but we'd be very grateful for any info.

Thanks again for posting the report!

Damn boy! That is a nice fish! What'd it measure (yeah - not like anyone's gonna BELIEVE it....)
Looks bigger than they get at the Pig for sure! Where was the rest of the school!!!

I'd be glad to know what they liked to (pm = great). You guys have nailed em good at the Berry, and haven't you worked the Pig before too? This year I'm really wanting to hit the ice up there. But watching all Liz's posts - I'm thinnin to save the gas rather than drive to Causey. BUT at least we know there ARE some decent fish out there.

Thanks for the post. Maybe there's hope!

Coyote, that koke was a loner 17 incher. No special super secret lure bait or location, actually it hit a tub jiig suspended in shallow water, the bigger ones seem to be loaners (at least for us) and small ones school up.
I enjoy koke fishing the most for sure and thats why I typically only post on the kokanee fishing forum.
I would not give up on causey it can definetly spit out some kokes, if thats what your after.
