Anybody been out there recently? How is the ice around the edges? I'm assuming they have refrozen due to the colder weather we have been having.
What about the fishing? I heard it had slowed down, but now that it got cold again is it any better? I want to go tomorrow morning.

Been wondering the same thing don't know if the water has cleared up again or not. It was really slow two weeks ago so I haven't been back since but I might run over for an hour or so this morning. I may see you there. Later J

Shouldn't have any problems with the edges. There might be a strip of thinner ice - you can even see bubbles underneath - but just pick a good spot. Main ice is great - wheelers and mobiles cruisin. There was enough snow a week ago to give the surface some 'tooth'. (but still slick enough for skating!)
Water was still plenty murky. I'm hoping it's cleared up some. I have not yet ended my perch-search! The trout seemed to be running shallow, 10ft down was the 'zone'.

My wife and I hit it this morning. We caught about 7 trout each and missed just as many. The fishing seemed to quiet down around 10 but we were still getting bites once in a while after that. It was a fun morning.

Planning on hitting it sometime this weekend, while I am up visiting the in-laws. I found a spot in the summer that I believe should hold some Perch. It was a nice brush pile in about 40-50ft of water. I am hoping I can find it with out GPS cord. If I do find them I will let ya know, they are still in there.

Yay - a believer! Can't imagine it'd go from buckets to nada in a year. Not like it got washed out the way PV did. Just thinking I ought to explore more different areas on that lake.
Hopefully the water's cleared up some since the rains.
So Mr. Man - if ya don't mind me asking - what part of the lake did you hit? Sounds like you had a good morning. At least they're giving you attention!

Yote hey I snuck in there by c86man and his gal and they were really rolling the fish had another great guy on the other side and he was nailing them by the hand fulls as well and it must of been a good day because even I caught 10 or 11 by 9:30 and I was missing 3 or 4 for each one I hooked. We were fishing the spill way. I forgot my parking pass so I just went down there today. The fish were everywhere from 8 ft down to the bottom. I was fishing in 24 ft deep water. They were taking anything but seemed to prefer pink and waxies for me. The water was still a little stained but fish didn't notice. They were the usual 9 to 12 inchers didn't notice anything much bigger being caught by anyone and no perch. Good luck and have fun. Later J

Me and a buddy went out yesterday and caught at least 30 trout and missed just as many. Caught 3 over 18" we packed up and were gone by 11. Nothing like being on the X.
