Put in at CFP to look for some bass around all the bait schools. Lots of bait but the bass fishing was a little slow. Did mark a couple of piles below the bait and managed to pickup 4 LM in a couple of hours. Only problem was size, nothing over 2.5#. All caught on bucktail jig worked off the bottom in fairly deep water. Even that bite slowed by noon so headed out to try for some crappie. I did good last trip on an offshore spot, so this time I decided to try strictly docks. Found fish on every dock I tried, but the shallow docks all had small fish. Probably caught 20 or more 6-8" white crappie and occasional small black.

Finally tried a couple of deep water docks, and started to catch much better size fish, all black crappie. Ended the day with 24 keepers, including 1 Tarp. Overall size not quite as good as previous trip, but still some nice fish. All caught on BG Shad in various colors. Wasted another hour after I quit crappie fishing trying for some more bass with no luck. Probably needed to get out earlier today to have had any chance at a striper.

Beautiful day and found some water as high as 52 degrees. A strange winter for sure. All fish released for another day.

Regards, Labman
