The warmer weather this week caused me to have a bout of 'cabin fever' so I called Marvin last night and talked him into putting off a hardwood flooring job and go fishing today. Launched from TL at 9am to bluebird skies and a gentle breeze...found a few fish at every stop but most were shorties, went to deeper ledges and drew a blank, next tried wood structure on a deep drop close to a bluff and scored a Tarp and a dozen 12-13 fat crappies that were really bland in color as they must have come in from winter water homes. Ended the day at 2pm as the wind picked up....totaled 33 black crappie and one white crappie, also 3 of the biggest yeller bellies that I've seen in a while....Oh Yea, forgot to mention stopping by the community hole on the way back, no specs at home there but did stick a piggy smallmouth on 4lb test line on an ultalight spincast that "made my day"it weighed 4lb11oz...nice one!! Fish today all ate the outlaw special and ghastly minnow and the water temps rose from 48.7 to 50.4 at noon.
