We arrived at Strawberry bay marina at about 8:30, went straight out from the ramp and west about 200 yards. 27' depth, fish on the finder, set up and NADA! Left at 1:00 I had zero bites, my daughter thought she had one bite right off the bat, and so did her friend. 4 of us with 5 poles, no fish. I drilled about 6-7 more holes going deeper, shallower and east and west. Could not find any fish on the finder. Wierd!
On a different note, yes it is Super Bowl Sunday, but the Berry seemed deserted. 15-20 people in about 6 groups was all that was near the marina. When I left, I saw nobody on mud creek at all.
I drove home via deer creek, ice looked "spooky" to say the least. Some open water on the north with patches of ice. main body of lake near the state park was open as well. I saw nothing from the road that looked safe. However there was one guy, 100-150 yards NORTH of the island pulling a sled. Be careful on DC, ice looked uggggggly!
