Mr. Jiggler and.Yaw-Yacker, on my bucket.....
#1
With all the talk about homemade tippers and Yaw-Yackers, and a few days where I wasn't busy, but was stuck at home.... I built this!

Combo tipper and auto-hook setter, built in to what we're already all carrying. Simple as I can come up with, doesn't add much to the sled-load, and both work.

First the tipper: I just hung a peg-board hook on the bucket's side with appropriate holes. Then, cutting a PVC "T" in almost in
half lengthwise, I fitted it with notches to the pole. The fitting snaps on the 4 ice rods I have, and will allow each, as well as a 5' rod, to balance. Notches drilled and then filed into the fitting let it teeter. If you grab and lift the rod quickly, the peg-board hook just lets it go.

For the Yaw-Yacker, I drilled a hole in one side of the bucket under the lip, and cut a notch in the opposite side. An eyebolt at the bottom of the bucket, under the notch, holds a string.

The string (a shoelace) passes through an eyelet bent into the wire (literally a paper clip), and a tiny peg, maybe 1/4" high is bent in about 3/4" from the eye. The tip of the wire is bent to cradle the fishing line. The whole wire is maybe 4" long. The "peg" of the wire is inserted into the last guide of the bent fishing rod, and the fishing line is draped over the cradle at the tip.

The string has a knot in one end, and if strung through the eyebolt, out to the trigger wire, and back into the eyebolt correctly the string is adjustable for different length rods. In fact adjusting the string length seems to be the best way to tune the trigger for sensitivity and hold.

There ya go! That's my best effort.

Whoops, some pics didn't attach, even though they said they did.

I fixed it, you had the inline box checked on the three that did not show up..
Looks like a nice set up, have you tried it yet?

No trial run yet, but it looks about as good as the others I've made previously, as far as set up, sensitivity, etc..

Somebody please copy it, or improve it, and try it out. I may not get another chance to icefish this year.

Wiper, I thought originally that checking "inline" would imbed 'em in the post, and I forgot to uncheck them.. Thanks..

Lol, yes if you follow the whole procedure for posting pics inline it will work but it does not work but just checking the inline box. Go to this link: http://www.bigfishtackle.com/cgi-bin/gforum/gforum.cgi?post=409887;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;page=unread#unread

Scroll down to #3 for procedure in putting inline pics in your post.
