Place your bets

Yesterday at work, I bet my guys that I could pull a fish on the first cast out of the Logan that runs behind where I work. At lunch we walked out back and the bets began to fly. To my surprise nobody bet on me! Heartbroken and downtrodden that I was clearly outnumbered, I took position on the bank. I dipped my finger into the water checking temperature and then raised it in the air to check the wind. After that I scanned the river reading the ripples in the water finding some nice slackwater on the opposite side. With bell clicked open and line in hand I made a perfect underhand pitch at my target area. The crowd went silent, one, two, three reels and BAM! Fish on baby! Ended up catching a beautiful 14 inch brownie. I also caught the four suckers that bet against me![:p]

Ah - right. Without a photo it's just another fish story! (ok, so you got witnesses, maybe it's a GOOD fish story!)

I've dinked around on some of that stretch behind the scout store. Seen fishes, but they seen me too!

So what'd ya pitch? A blue fox spinner? A Tubedude jig that looks like a snowman? [:p]

Those are the best all-around go-to spinners in these rivers/creeks.

Way to go Catmaster!

I love when you know a spot and the odds are in your favor. It's still a gamble but good odds are better than no odds.
