Almost 36 years to the day, Arkansas’s largemouth bass state record has finally been broken. On Tuesday, Paul Crowder of Forrest City set the new record on Lake Dunn near Wynne. Crowder’s lunker weighed 16 pounds, 5 ounces, breaking the old record by just a single ounce.

Now I have to catch one that is 1oz larger to beat it. No worries.... hehehehe.
If I ever land Valley Girl out of Valentines I bet she is close if not bigger.

We know there is a Hawg female bass in there because she has broken lines and got off so many times.
She has broken my 12lb Spiderwire xxx Super Mono twice there and have gotten off of a few of my friends lines using braid by jumping like crazy. We know she is over 10lb. No doubt about it.
My friend Joe got her to shore once and was about to lip her and she ran like a freight train and broke his line again.
I am the only one to hook her twice in over 10 years.
We know there is a lunker in that pond we just aren't sure how big. 10 to 16lb.
So we named her Valley Girl because she is in old man Valentine's pond. It's just an old pond from the 70's they dug out to use the dirt for some overpasses on the highway here. The state stocked the ponds with crappie, bream, and largemouth bass way back then over 40 years ago. Since then it hasn't been maintained, managed or nothing, just old pond dug out for the dirt.
Most fish that pond for the crappie or bream. But a few of us know about Valley Girl. A very well kept secret in our county.

I read that the new record was cancelled out because the guy was fishing illegally and bought his license after he caught it.

na he is a good guy there..
he will get to do his time..
the cops didn't arrest him so the catch didn't make a big deal..
he still caught the state record and we give him that.
It might not make it into the records.
but we give it to him.

He's got bragging rights for landing that bass, thats for sure, yet he wasn't even holding the rod, plus you can't brag about fishing without a license.
Byte,I had no Idea your Valley Girl is such a big girl, man good luck landing her.Mike I wish you luck landing her next time you hook up with her. What would you do with her if she's the one, would you try to keep her alive.,good luck from FL.PP.
