Sand Hollow Trip
#1
I am heading down to Sand Hollow on Sunday the 22nd for two to three days of (hopefully) absurd pontoon bassin'. I've only been there once, and only for a short period from the shore -- but I loved it. I will be using mainly flies, I hope, but will take a few spinners just in case. Anyone live down around there or want to make the trip? I'm not much on looks or odor, but I'm willing to stay on the lake for days at a time. If you're bored or looking for someone to slaughter some time with, give me a shout.

Also, if anyone has any spots that might be "better than others" for a pontoon boat, or if you've got a go-to fly pattern for those bucket mouths, I'd love to offer Fly Goddess as payment for a PM or two. (what you do with her is your business, but I hear she's awesome with furled leaders!)

Thanks in advance, etc.

Dave.

Dave, the recent Carp Fly swap, I received a challenge fly. I was asked to duplicate a clouser of sorts. It was black, but I tied some up in Olive and they have done real well with LM. I think I have enough material to tie you one for the fish, and one for the bush, and one more to play it safe.

You would be my hero x 4. I'm sure I could find it in my heart to buy you lunch or something along those lines in return.

Dang, I'm jealous, I wish I could go down there. Some of those big, articulated sculpins should work really well. Clousers, bunny leeches, big buggers, those sorts of things should work well. I would also bring some poppers, especially pencil poppers if you can find them. Nothing better than watching a big bass blow up on top.

I was actually just reading an article about dropshotting streamers. I'm for sure going to try it this year.

I've been catching them on pumpkin seed tube jigs, so maybe a big black wooly bugger.
