I've already been on Wayne's words and on a bunch of other websites but I can't find much info on bullfrog for the life of me.
1. How much is it to launch? We want to launch one day and not returning until two days later. I guess that means we need to buy three day passes?
2. I heard they have their own system of certifiying quagga musle awareness. Is there a place I can do this online prior to heading down?
3. Is there a fee to camp on a secluded beach?
4. Where is the closest boat ramp? Bullfrog?
5. Are there any other things I need to know, i.e., additional fees, requirements, etc? Thanks guys.

Let me try to help..[crazy]
You pay at the gate or booth as you go in, I think its $15. but not sure and that is for 15 days camping or launch ...
You can NOT certify on line.. They do that down there you can't miss it..and you must be checked be for you put your boat on or in the water..[ ![Wink Wink](https://bigfishtackle.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.png) ]
on the water you can camp about any place you want to..

Self certification is very limited but can be done in a few places. For most situations it's not an option. It can be done online for the few situations it's allowed. http://www.nps.gov/glca/parknews/zebramussel1.htm
This website also was much of the other information you're inquiring about.
Pretty sure all the remote camping is free.
Closest ramp to where? SLC ? I think Hite is slightly closer than Bullfrog.
I was thinking on going down tomorrow am for 3 days but the weather looks crappy and probable won't go. Hope your trip is after that.

I was actually on that website today but my computer (which is brand new) doesn't show it very well, it looks as if it wasn't able to upload everything properly.

Keep in mind that you can not camp on the beach right at Bullfrog.

Bassrods is correct !! THERE IS NO ONLINE certification for Powell. It is all done in person. Ramp opens at 7AM and closes at 5PM, Monday thru Thursday. The ramp stays open till 7PM on Friday and Saturday.
Be SURE that all livewells, bilges, etc are perfectly dry. Drop your motor for a couple of days to make sure that all the water drains out. IF there is ANY water, they will decontaminate you !!
Get a good map of Powell so you can study it. Stanton Creek is one of the best campsites by Bullfrog and has some great fishing also. As I remember, you have a small craft, so that may be your best spot.
They are really tight on the inspection and as the season progress' they will get tighter. I was down last week and there was a rig from the Vegas area that was impounded because it had mussels on it. The owner had paid to have the vessel acid washed, but they did not do a very good job. It will ruin your trip if they impound your rig.
Have a great trip, Powell is a very special place, great fishing, scenery, great everything !!!

What all do they inspect? I heard about fire extinguishers needing to be 10 yrs. old or newer, or something like that, some type of toilet, etc.? What do you guys do for bathrooms? I was thinking of bringing a 5 gallon bucket and just putting a fresh trash bag in each time. I only say this because we plan on launching on the 3rd, and not coming back until the 5th.
Also does that mean on the 5th we need to be off the lake by 7? Evening fishing is just going at 7.
Anybody know of good online maps for powell?
I just got a new boat, a 97' Starcraft 1809 ski n' fish (it's fiberglass not aluminum), but I don't know if I really dare to go too far into all the canyons and such just because I'm not sure how reliable it is. Saying that, it appears that everything runs great but I just need to get some boat time to gain confidence in its dependability.
Anything else I'm missing for Powell? Man it seems like more work than it's worth!

Also, will my trolling motor (12 volt) last off of one charge prior to leaving? We'll be on the lake basically two full days. I don't plan on running it full speed ever. I figure I can cruise the shorelines at like speed 1, but go ahead and use my trolling plate and gas motor for faster trolling for stripers. What do you think?

Hey bud, five gallon bucket won't work. You have to buy a portable toilet. You need more battery power or a way to charge it.Take a small generator. You will need it. And extra gas. Plan to have a lot of stuff and head straight for your camp spot. Unload there before you try to fish.Get a hand held marine radio or install one in the boat. It could save your life. Hite is closest. Lake Powell fishing/camping is awesome, but you need to prepare. It's not a quick trip to Utah Lake. The better you prepare, the more fun/ less worries you have. Be safe my friend.

OK, you have to download the papers and fill it out so technically not online. But yes if I had gone to a remote launch like Farleys today I could do that and skip the onsite inspection. I didn't go because the weather sucks down there for the next several days. Again as stated it's very limited situations. Did you actually read the information on the link I supplied or download the self certification packet[:|]. here's a link directly to the forms to fill out;
http://www.nps.gov/glca/parknews/upload/...Packet.pdf
I hope you're actually just passing on hearsay and didn't read it because Alzheimer's maybe creeping up otherwise.

This won't work if you line the bucket with a garbage sack?

No, that would not work for a porta poti at Lake Powell. Also plan on seperate entrance fees for vehichle and boat. $15 for one and $16 for the other. In an earler post it suggest that there is just a $15 dollar fee that would get you in to launch.
Throw in these gas prices and a short trip down to Powell can get pricey.

Regarding certification-- I believe Bassrods and Therapist are correct. The certification for State and Fed waters are two different things and are not accepted as the same. The Feds do their own on site certifications at Powell and the state certification is not acceptable. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
That said, the Gorge is a Fed water and the Utah state certification is accepted there?? I think?
Prepare and enjoy your trip.
