Had a fun day at mantua. Dead calm and glassy most of the morning. It wasn't fast and furious but a good time. Got 2 lmb's and a few bluegill..even got a surprise perch. Bass and perch were caught on olive and black gartside hackle and bluegill were caught on nymphs under an indicator. Nothing but fisherman on the lake but just as I was heading in around 11am a ski boat and some wave runners were at the dock. So my timing was impeccable.
Nether of the bass were very big but here's a picture anyway.. Also a pic of a fat bluegill.

I got one from you in the last fly swap. I worked really well so I looked up how to tie them. Super easy to tie.. and trout and bass love them. Plus there way easier to cast then most other streamers because there so light.

Coyote: He does look contorted but mostly because of the way its in the net. Nothing physically wrong other then a weight problem. There were a few gills slurpping bugs off the surface he was the first one to hit my fly. So im guessing he was just the greedy one.
TDT: I think you just like to take any opportunity to cut little fishies into pieces..

JLG I remember once out there, fish were rising. Tied on a #16 Griffith Gnat and man it was fast and furious.
LITTLE??? I didn't think it was little at all. Plus plump..LOL Good combination, but that place is full of food.

What kind of stripping/retrieve? I use a couple. Steady long strip, Figure eight with the hands, or strip, strip pause, strip, strip. Interested in new styles.
