Nymphs and Bluegills
#1
I recently went to Mantua Reservoir, and had a blast catching those little guys on damselfly nymphs. I've recently been getting into flyfishing for panfish, and though dry fly fishing for trout is still my favorite method, I've decided to use my nymphs on the less picky sunfish when I go nymphing. It seemed much simpler to go nymphing in a lake then a stream, (at least to me).

On a side note, I was curious how often damselfly nymphs can be used. Are they best on a certain season like spring or summer? Any more info on your experiences with damselfly nymphs would be great!

I use them when they are there. Match the Hatch. However, I have had success when there are no Damsel Hatches but, it could be my fly is multi tasking.
As for myself, I prefer dry fly like everyone else I know. Nothing like seeing the take, but that is not always an option. Dry/dropper is great.
