drumking, chickamauga, white bass, 07 July 2012, Cuonthelake
#1
Candi wanted to catch a few white bass this morning, so I took her up to the nuke in search of some jumps. The fish did their thing for just a little while and were mostly in one smaller area than normal for up there. There were 3 young guys in the perfect position all morning and it seemed that they had the fish trained to come up around their boat. Kudus to those guys. We watched them catch fish on a regular basis.

I'm not one to really infringe upon someone else's spot, so we stayed just out of range for most of the time. The fish did come up where we could get a cast into them about 3 or 4 times. Candi and I both caught fish when they were in range. I caught most on topwater lures and a couple on tail spinners. Candi caught her fish on tail spinners. We both broke off on a good fish. Probably knot was worn and neither of us retied all morning. We quit fishing about 8 or 8:15 and went crappie fishing, but it was a terrible morning for the crappie. The only fish that we found were extremely deep. We quit fishing just after 10:00 AM. We both had other things scheduled for the day, so it was short and sweet trip. We did beat the heat today, but the fish beat us mostly. There will be better days.

Thanks for going with me today, Candi. Today makes one appreciate the really good days that we have from time to time. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
