Alturas Lake report 7/23

I actually didn't fish, but snorkeled around the inlet for over an hour. Good amount of bull trout there(~20 fish) to 25 inches....some real hogs. Also saw quite a few planter rainbows to about 14". Other than that lots of lake whitefish, and one kokanee, but it looked like it was missing its adipose fin so maybe a sockeye?

I emptied the trap at Sawtooth Hatchery this morning, only about 20 fish. We had a real big one at 37 inches. No sockeye yet.
