Is this the golden ticket?
#1
Went up to the uintas today with a couple of coworkers to beat the heat and look for the golden ticket. Got up thier around 730 and the got 2 fish right off the bat on a renagade. Then it just shut off. Switched to a spin rod and a jakes lure for a while and the bite was back on! Landed a total of 12 fish at the first lake in 3 + hours 6 on the fly and 6 on a jakes including what I think is my first GOLDEN TROUT! Its in the first 3 pics, and I and pretty sure its a golden but Ill let you guys be the judge since Ive never seen one in person. Went up to the second lake and the fish were bigger and much better fighters with the biggest at just over 14inches. Ended the day at 17 netted with quite a few misses but a big Smile on my face [Smile]

Congratualations. Not a particularly colorful one but maybe they lose some color now that spawn is over. Once Summer is here the bite really drops off with the sun.

Thats why I wasnt sure if it was or not, all the ones Ive seen pics off are really colorful but didnt look like a brookie so I figured it was a golden. Still a beautiful fish and glad to get that off my bucket list. The fishing was wierd up thier the fish would come on and catch a few then shut off for a while then back on. Would catch 2 or three fish then nothing for an hour then another 2 or three.

BINGO! Congratulations on that. In my experience up there, they don't really color up for another 3 or 4 weeks- labor dayish.

Looks like a Golden to me. Definitely not a Brookie and I that that is the only other species of fish in that lake. Definitely not a colorful one. Their color is probably fading a little since they are not in spawning mode any more. The one I caught up there in June was really bright.
