I just finished my basement and one room is being dedicated to Fly Fishing. Sort of a Den/Man Cave if you will. I have a Bamboo rod with reel that I want to hang horizontally. Looking for suggestions and recommendations. I have looked around and found racks that hold rods but I want just the rod and no obtrusive rack or large hangers. Thinking cup hooks??
Thanks.

You could tack it up with fence staples or u-nails

I think cup hooks could work nice. But is there any chance you will use this rod, or is it just for decor?

The rod is in great shape and I have fished it. Don't know that I would take it out again but you never know. Thats why I was thinking cup hooks. Plus they wouldn't detract from the rod that much.

In that case, a problem could occur. It is wood and it can warp. I have one I hung on the wall. An old one of my Grandfathers. Not an expensive one and old time heavy. I hung it on the wall just using small trim nails.

Warp because of the sag from hanging or from just being out in the open?

Both. It will form a set. When fishing bamboo, turning the rod when landing a fish periodically is done for this reason.

I did this and just used thumb tacks and painted them the color of my walls... Virtually free
