Hello out there. New to the forum.
I FISH: ocean to streams and all water in between.
My grandfather started me with a cane ploe, trot line and stink bait. From there it was crappie and bream, tournament bass, belly boats, drift boats, 2 wts and long range offshore trips.
I am here because I want to learn.
Get bit.

Hi Pete, welcome to BFT and thank you for joining. You'll be right at home here. Just about all of those types of fishing are covered somewhere around here. Be sure to post a report sometime.

Welcome to the site Pete. We have a lot of boards you might be interested in here on BFT including your State board and Freshwater and Fly fishing boards. I see you are from Western Slope of Colorado, would that be Grand Junction or around that area? I grew up in So Colo. and have friends in Delta Colo.

Hi, we live in Olathe, 40 miles S. of G.J. and 12 miles S. of Delta.
We just retired (sold our organic truck farm in the Durango area) and are looking forward to a new career of decadent fishing. We hope to gin up and do some serious fishing in our new area; hopefully that will include L. Powell and Blue Mesa.

I grew up in a small town SW of Durango, called Ignacio. Blue Mesa is a good place for lake trout but Powell is awesome for a lot of different warm water fish. Check out our Nevada board for info on fishing Powell but the Utah board also gets a fair amount of Powell post.

Amazing! I am a graduate of Bayfield HS (Class of '64). Our farm was on HWY 160 between Bayfield and Pagosa. Been in and out of Ignacio most of my life.
We sold our farm and moved to this area. Our son (our youngest) lives here and is a practicing dentist in Montrose.
If you ever get back here give me a holler.

Looks like you got me by 10 years, Ignacio HS class of 74. I must have driven that road (HWY 160) hundreds of times. I use to love to go to Vallecito Res, nice trout and Northern pike, did you ever fish it?

Yes, fished Vallecito and all the rivers many times. We have a summer home in Creede and now cosider that area our "Home Waters": lots of lakes and lots of rivers.
