Please recommend me a Surf Rod/Reel

I'm open to recommendations for a Surf Rod/Reel combo and rock that B---- up and down the coast (from Cabo to Prince Rupert).

Looking to spend about $400.

i order most of my surf gear from a company called tackle direct or mahi-mahi. they have surf combos at all price ranges. i like penn equipment.

for me its "penn 650ssm spinfishing with a stellar lite rod. 10 or 11'. this combo is half the price you are looking for so you may want a more expensive set up. this just works for me. am a penn fan.[fishin]
