The sun was shining yesterday afternoon and I had a couple of free hours so I decided to head up Logan canyon to do a little bit of nymphing in the freezing cold. First hole, second cast hooked into an average logan river brown.

next cast this feisty, pretty fellow found himself on the end of my line.

The next fish was a beautiful cutt

a minute later as I moved upstream I hooked something that felt much bigger than what I had been catching and started taking my drag upstream before circling around and jogging me back downstream. After a few minutes of fighting I landed this ~19" spawning whitefish.

The scales were super hard and bumpy, indicating spawn mode AND he "milted" on my arm when i was removing the hook.
The next little while brought a few more average sized browns and cutts to hand before it got too cold for my hands to handle any more and I left. Good winter day on the Logan
