Pineview Perch
#1
My son and I went up to Pineview Sunday morning to try our luck on perch. We set up the ice tent about 8:00am near the bouy line by the dam. We drilled two holes, put the tent over and sat down. From that point on it was one fish after the other! If we wanted to do anything we had to take the line out of the water because we would get a bite every cast, literally. Those spring bobbers work like magic!
We stay until about noon and ended up catching 63 perch between the two of us. Those fish aren't big but I tell ya, if you take a kid fishing and have that kind of action, it will be a day he remembers forever and will definately give him the positive experience needed to build the desire to fish more often with you.
We had a great time and got out right before the snow pounded down. What a day! We got plenty of fish of fish tacos and good bait for crappie, which we will go for next weekend. Oh, the majority of all those perch were full of eggs too.
