Sounds like a good buy, out of curiosity i found the link below for some reviews. BTW, I'm in Poky and the weather looks fair this weekend. Any idea how access to Upper Portneuf is?

Upper is accessible but a good 4wd is probably a good idea. Just remember its all catch and release artificial barbless right now. The fishing has been slow but productive, and if you plan on wading be careful there is a bunch of silt built up right now and its slick. Ive been picking a few up in shallow water, when I say shallow I mean 2 feet of water. But most have been in 5+ feet of water. And they seem to be stacking in faster water. The really slow water has been very unproductive. Let me know when your going and what general area and I could check it out a day in advance and let you know what the water looks like if I dont have any thing going on. If you are using spinning gear ive been doing well with maniac minnows, and spoons. Fished slow and bouncing the bottom. If your using a fly, ive been using a streamer and a wooley bugger with success. Both worked close to bottom and very slow.. Hope that helps.

And it is snowing around the upper right now. I only live 5 min from the upper access of the river.

Thanks for the advice. I usually go for Rapala CD's or Panther Martins. The sun is shining in Poky now, hopefully it will stick around for tomorrow. I'm itching to get my gear wet even if nothing is biting. I've got 1500 4WD so i should be ok with getting from the highway to the river I guess. If not I'll probably ride down to Kackley Springs to look around. Never been there and recently read about the restoration efforts for cutts there.
