launched out of Waconda around 9:00. we fished shallow flats with the rig and picked up the first two keeper-sized fish thirty minutes in. after that things slowed down a bit. the next fish came on a jig, and then the last little short guy on a shakey head. from there on it was game over for us. we put in a full day and called it a little after five. we tried fishing deeper water with jigs but that didn't save the day. also fished a jerkbait a lot along with a rattle trap and a carolina rig with no results. surface temp was 51 degrees and the afternoon wind made fishing open flats somewhat difficult.
