Utah suckers are bottom feeders so there lips are toward the bottom. Think of this your fishing on Jordan river and if your thing your catching June suckers your wrong because they are endanger species as well they never had the change to be in the Jordan river unless some stupid person toss some in the river.
June suckers are only found in Provo river and Utah lake. Those Utah suckers are sure fun to catch especially when you get the ones in the 20"+ range. Hope this helped you out and have a great Jordan river season because it's just barley getting started. [signature]

heres a june sucker to compare to, as you can see there mouths are faced more to feed things in the middle of the water column. And as for them being in the jordan they are. They just are hard to find at all to catch just like it would be tough to get one at UL, the jordan and UL are connected so there is nothing stoping them from getting in the J R. Have witnessed a few caught over my life. Any endangered species is going to be hard to find. I wondered the same thing aswell but once you see one in person after you have been getting utah suckers they stand out enough to think,"hey this is different".
The suckers are feeding up pretty good now and i was trying to keep em off my hook yesterday for a kitty but they were all over my rig. fun to fight 25 inchers on the fly rod even if they do snap my line every so often[cool]. [signature]

Just saying mill pond is a private propert. The only way you can fish that place is if you own it or you know the owner.
