This is the first post I have made in a long time. Haven't had much to report though. We fished CJ Strike on Wednesday from about 9:30 till the afternoon. Not much wind throughout the day, thankfully. Heading back to the ramp, its one of the few times I can remember having flatwater on the main body in the afternoon. No boats running around, or wind. Surface temps got up around 57 degrees.
Mostly looking for perch and crappie. We ended up catching one nice smallie that was maybe 2 1/2 lbs. A handful of crappie that went 8 inches maybe. I have heard reports that the average size is down. About the same numbers for perch. Largest perch we netted was a jumbo. He was right at 14 in. and fat. They all were still hanging out fairly deep. Also caught a bunch of little sunfish. Moved around and changed things up a lot trying to figure them out.
This weekend should heat things up...
