So I hit "the pig" twice last week and got skunked both times. If I can get any tips from people who fish it regularly I think that would help a lot!! I really want to fill a cooler with kokanee. I've bought a bunch of new tackle specific for kokanee, dodgers, squids, apex, wedding rings all in various colors and tried them all and still couldn't get any on the line. Also tried trolling rapalas for browns and didn't even get a bite... I'm guessing the water needs to warm up or something... Dunno. Any advice? Any specific colors to try?
PS-
I've got a boat with electronics and down riggers, so I can see the fish and troll through them, but I'm coming up empty. We also tried jigging for suspended fish with no success.

It sounds like you are doing what you need to do. Once it gets a little warmer the kokanee will be a bit more aggressive and the trout fishing is typically slow up there year round (except for the baby planter bows) , but there is some trout in there........ Just fish more.

Sounds like you had the right idea, how fast were you trolling? How full is the lake? Were you able to launch in the back?

I was trolling .8 to 1.8 or so. Occasionally going 2. When I was there the water looked to be about 10ft down from the high water mark. I launched at the front launch but I saw another boat that launched at the rear one. Thanks for the replies! I guess I'll just have to keep at it 'till I have some success up there.

dont feel too bad, i fished up there friday afternoon and came home stinky too. we didn't seem to mark any really big groups of fish, we trolled similar stuff as you did for about 5 hours, right up till dark. it shouldnt be long before the fishing picks up. on a side note, we used the front launch for the first time with the 18.5ft lund, i've lauched smaller boats up there, but this was pretty sketchy, we set the park brake and got out to unhook the boat and all 4 truck tires started sliding down the launch.
