What are the reeds looking like this year?
How about the size of the fish?
I'm hoping to be there next weekend for a couple days

Pelican and Steinaker are both low. No flooded brush this year at Steinaker. Just drove past Pelican today and doesn't look like many green reeds pushing through yet. Been stormy around here this whole week so the water hasn't warmed up any lately. That's all I know for now.

A friend of mine lives right there, and fishes it 3-4 times a week, mostly in the evenings. He has been catching 10-25 per night. He has limited fishing tackle with him(he lives in Heber), he has been throwing rattle traps and other various hard baits. (chartruese) mainly by the pumps, on the southeast corner. He said it is hard to access anywhere else, because of the weeds. Good luck, Dan

Fished Pelican a few days ago. Water temps 54-57, morning, left around noon. No reeds yet. I don't think there has been weather conditions since then that would make water temp. go up. Fishing was fair. My girlfriend and I landed 14 bass and a few gills, all in the 5-6 feet of water range. Shallower and deeper neted nothing. Supposed to be 85 degrees on Sunday so things will no doubt be looking up out there in a few days. All of our bass came on 1/16 ounce jigs with 1" grubs. I tried a variety of other lures and senco's which only led the her out fishing me at 8 bass to my 6... Man, have I been hearing about it. :-)))
