Smith & Morehouse

Went up to Smith & Morehouse today to toss some lines with 3 friends. We did pretty well once we started throwing what the fish wanted. I was tossing Jakes and Kastmasters and a couple other spinners for the first hour or so, I caught 1. Two of my friends were throwing similar lures with the same or worse luck. My other friend threw out some rainbow powerbait and started catching pretty quickly. She had 6 before anyone else had 2. I switched over and couldn't keep my line in the water for longer than 5 minutes without a hit. They were biting constantly from 9-11 am, we caught about 50. Most of them were small 10-12". We had a couple get close to 15". Still fun to catch though. It was one of those days you wish you had kids or beginners with you so they could really experience the excitement of a good day. We fished from the shore about 100 yards up from the boat ramp. We weren't tossing out too far either. Maybe 30-40 feet.
Good weather, fresh air and hungry fish = Good Times.

Great to hear a report from Smitty. I have been anxious to get up there. I may have to make a trip up there in the next few weeks.
