Lost net!
#1
My wife and I were fishing just below Jordanelle Dam last Wednesday, July tenth. The trout started rising around 11:30 for Green Drakes and Golden Stones. We caught some nice sized Browns that day on dries. We crossed over to the gaging station and were fishing just above the cable when I hooked the river Brown of my life. The fish immediately ran down-river towards my Wife. I followed the fish and handed my Brodin Waterford net to my wife. She did her level best to land this hog but fell in during the scramble. I reached for her and helplessly watched my net float down-river. I tried to chase the floating net but did a face plant into the river, loosing the trout and the rod tip of my Sage rod. We walked and talked our way down-river and no one had seen my net and I know the rod tip is somewhere down in the river rubble. We will remember this day trip!
If anyone has found a Brodin Waterford net or a tip of a rod please contact me.
Thanks and I wish good fishing to everyone this Summer.

Sorry to hear you lost your net... I would have let it go over losing the fish and breaking your rod!

Thanks, hind site being 20-20, I have to agree. The loss was during the heat of battle and the river and the fish won.

I did the same thing earlier this year under the U.S. 40 bridge.
Thanks, hind site being 20-20, I have to agree. The loss was during the heat of battle and the river and the fish won.
that's the worst! It's funny the only thing that seems important is landing that lunker! I think we've all been there... On the plus side if you want to replace the net I found a really good "cheap version" at wal mart. It's a cortland rubber net. My dad bought the same one at a local fly shop for $60 but wal mart has it for $20. I love it! http://mobile.walmart.com/m/phoenix;jses...t/19697651
