[#502800]Had a good time in Oregon, (Cheap guys Alaska).[/#502800]
[#502800]We stalked the Albacore, then the bottom fish and crabs, then the King Salmon.[/#502800]
[#502800]The ocean was really rough on the Albacore day, but then it calmed right down.[/#502800]
[#502800]We fished the NeHalem river for the Kings.[/#502800]

Nice post. Looks like some hefty Kings. Makes me homesick. I am originally from the Seattle area and had all of that in my backyard most of my life. Hoping for a trip up in September for Silvers, Pinks, and Dungeness Crabs!

[#502800]If you go, mark these dates on your calendar. We had pretty good timing from Aug. 5th thru the 10th.[/#502800]
[#502800]The Albacore are out there and the kings are in the river. The Coho were shut down, but we picked wild Marionberries on our down day.[/#502800]
[#502800]We rented a house in Rockaway which is halfway between Garibaldi for the Albacore and Wheeler for the Kings.[/#502800]

Sounds great, only thing better would be to get in on the halibut too, but that closed the end of July. Thanks for the tips, I hope someday I'll be able to do it. Love those wild Marion berries wish our weeds were as tasty as they are in the northwest. I did go find some huckleberries over the weekend and so I can't complain about that. They are so good. Thanks again for the info. J

We went out of Garibaldi first week of Aug last year for tuna and had a great time. I expect you used either Garibaldi Charters or went with Siggi-G (I've been with both). I didn't have a contact for the Kings. What service did you use on the NeHalem? I would like to check that one out next year. This year we went earlier and got Halibut. I have to get my coast fix each year. Great report.

[#502800]Yes, We went with Garibaldi charters ....... I'm not sure if the Siggi-G is an Alby boat?[/#502800]
[#502800]Joe is a fun captain on the Siggi-G for the bottom fish.[/#502800]

[#502800]We went after the Kings with John Krauthoefer, who is the Firefighters Guide Service....... He is a retired firefighter out of Beaverton who now lives in Tillamook.[/#502800]
[#502800]He is a great guide with a fantastic 26 foot sled boat.[/#502800]

[#502800]We didin't even have room for the blueberries that were growing all over the railroad tracks.[/#502800]

Looks like you had a lot of fun with nice fishing to-boot..
What did it cost for the bottom fishing trip and how many bottom fish could you get per day now??
We have gone out of Bandon and Coos bay, but its been about 8 years..
