The wife took me to Campfire lodge for a week. I struggled to catch fish the first couple days and ready to call it quits. on the 4th day I started to figure it out. Put on a #10 glass Buzzer with a #18 brassie w/wing and hit 4 fish with my biggest fish of the trip hitting the glass buzzer. It was a 6lb Brown from behind a big bolder WOOOHOOOO! Lost my Buzzer on the next fish. Funny, I have had that fly for years and never fished it. We found that a red serendipity on front with a purple rubber leg Barrs was our best combination and the last 2 days we knocked the socks off them.

Man, I hit my first salmonfly hatch ever on that section like 13 years ago. It was so awesome. Big monster browns every few casts. Love Montana.

Buzzer glue question: Do you use Clear Cure Goo and Clear Cure Goo Light?
Or is there a cheaper alternative?
Thanks.

Hey James....love that Campfire Resort. Good location. Spent a week this summer over the 4th.Hit a good portion of the salmonfly hatch and also did well nymphing both above and below Quake. I hear it's a blast to fish above Quake late winter.....big bows.

I thought I saw a UV flashlight at Sportsmans for like $11? next to the clear goo. Does that sound right? I'm thinking of trying this stuff.

Ive been a Sally fan for years. I need something like epoxy to build up around the eyes on my saltwater streamers. Epoxy works but I sometimes don't want to deal with the drying wheel and waiting to dry.

As much time as I spend on the Madison, never fished above Campfire, I have fished some between Campfire, and Quake. We spend 4-6 weeks at Slide, I fish there to Raynolds Bridge or just below the bridge. Great place to spend part of the summer.

Above Campfire was the bigger variety of fish Cutts, Bows, Browns, Whitefish and sizes. Plus it was easier to wade.
