Hit Strawberry this morning
#1
I went out with my brother and nephew this morning to strawberry marina. Both are ice fishing rookies. I usually fish soldier creek but the fishing has been slow there (great size but not much quantity) so wanted to try the marina for a change.

We were on the ice by 7:00 and left at 11:00. We caught 3 bows and 3 cutts so it was slow there for us as well. Everybody we spoke with mentioned it was slow. We didnt witness anybody catching a fish.

We did manage to catch some very nice cutts. Attached pics. One cutt was caught on chartreuse ratfinkee with the jaw jacker and the other on a pink and white radical glow. Both were tipped with meal worms.

It seems the fishing is best before 8:00. I'm tempted to get on the ice by 6:00 and see if we can land more. We were hooking up with fish before sunrise.

I will probably hit soldier creek tomorrow and will let everyone know how it goes.

Thanks for the report...let us know how thick the ice is on the SC side if you end up there tomorrow. I'd like to see if I can get my snowmobile down there. Thanks again for the report!
